Modern wine cellars are becoming more and more popular. Adding a more modern look to your wine storage area is a great way to add some excitement to your home. At Rosehill Wine Cellars we design and build all kinds of wine rooms. Here are just a few of our more modern wine storage looks, and some ideas on how to make your own wine storage area more contemporary.
Add a Contemporary Touch
Add a modern touch to your cellar by using grey paint on the walls. This will add a sleek cool effect, especially if you match the colour with your wine racks. This will make the bottles look like they’re floating. Having glass walls or glass doors is another great way to make your wine room more contemporary. Adding glass to your wine storage area is becoming increasingly more common. It’s also an exciting way to showcase your wine collection. Just make sure that your cooling unit can handle it!
However, please note that although glass walls and doors look fabulous they provide very little protection for your wine. Glass walls provide very little ‘R’ value. Therefore, overall we don’t recommend that you build your wine cellar this way, and we still prefer traditional wine cellars with proper insulation.
Metal Wine Racks
Nothing says modern like metal wine racking! This type of wine racking is also a great way to make your bottles look like they’re floating! This type of wine storage usually lends itself well to label forward display. Having a label forward display makes it easier to keep track of what you’re storing in your wine cellar.
Add a Twist
Adding something fun like a ladder is a great way to be a little eccentric with your wine collection, and build yourself an actual wine library! Another great way to spice up your wine collection display is by using wine peg systems. These systems are available in various different styles. In addition, these peg systems also allow you to display your wine collection using different configurations.
